Evelyn Irene Elrod: Obituary

Evelyn Irene Elrod, age 87 of McCaysville, GA passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown, TN. She was born Sunday, April 10, 1927 in Isabella, TN to the late Charlie Thomas and Mattie Jones Elrod. Ms. Elrod was a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church. She was a manufacturing worker in the textile industry. Ms. Elrod was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Parks and Carl Elrod; five sisters, Maudie Arp, Hazel Gaddis, Ruth DisSpaine, Elizabeth Kaylor and Shirley Rhodes.

Survivors are daughter, Patsy Hedrick; grandsons, Dennis and Stacy Hedrick; great-granddaughter, Krista Hedrick all of Mineral Bluff, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sheila Elrod of Cleveland, TN; sister, Lois Held of Akron, OH; many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with the Rev. Tim Hemming officiating. Music will be by Krista Hedrick and Tristan Hedden. Interment will follow in the Mount Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Hedrick, Stacy Hedrick, Donnie Rhodes, Dennis Ash, A.E. Loudermilk and Jeff Ferguson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Max Arp, Chuck Hedden, Clint Burrell, Randall Ballew, Buster Carr, Ronnie Dillard, Kenny Martin, Danny Ballew and Gary Carr.
