Mr. William John Burke: Obituary

Mr. William John Burke, age 83 of Morganton, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Bill was born July 23, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Patrick Burke and the late Annie Scully Burke. A member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Connolly and Frances Burke, and brother, Joseph Burke. He worked for Northeast and Delta Airlines as a mechanic and served his country during the Korean War enlisting in the Air Force. Bill enjoyed bowling in his younger years. He also enjoyed riding his tractor.

Survivors include loving wife, Mary Burke, four daughters, Mary Anne (George) Nash, Carol (Gene) Boullain, Diane Burke, and Kathleen Burke, four grandchildren, Jessica and Mark Nash, Eugene (Evelyn) Boullain, and Laura Boullain.

Funeral services will be held Monday evening March 30, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with Father John Conway officiating. Interment and committal service will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 967 E. Main St., Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
