BLUE RIDGE, GA — The public hearings concerning the BOC charter change will be taking place in the court house jury room on Wednesday, March 11th, and Wednesday, March 18th, at 6:00pm.With the current charter stating that the decision to hire and fire department heads is the solo responsibility of the chairman, while the post commissioners have no say in the process.

If the new charter change were to take place the hiring and firing department heads would be a total board decision.

However, sources tell FYN that if the charter change does take place the board may face some legal challenges.

FYN have contacted the clerk of court to try to get the actual document so the citizens can have the exact wording of the charter change, but FYN has been told that the document will not be ready until as late as tomorrow the evening of March 11th even though the document is supposed to be published in advance for the community to see.
