Mr. Burnice Lester McHan, age 85, of Morganton, GA, passed away on February 27, 2015 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Ramhurst, GA, he was the son of the late Bascom Grady and Ada Cordell McHan. Mr. McHan served his country honorably both in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He graduated from the Nashville Diesel Auto College and had worked his whole life as a Diesel Mechanic. Burnice was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Shirley McHan; children, Oueita Ann McHan of Morganton, GA, Kaye McHan of Cornelius, NC, Benjamin McHan of the Philippines and Michael and wife Brenda McHan also of Morganton, GA; brother, Billy Joe McHan of Orlando, FL; sisters, Jean Tippins and Betty Ann McHan both of Blackshear, GA; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services will be conducted on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Beck and Rev. Victor Morgan officiating. Music will be provided by Greg Norton. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Church from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial service hour. Interment will follow later in the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Pruitt Hospice.
