Mrs. Madelyn Martha Holbrooks age 86 of Ducktown, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Madelyn was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Holbrooks, father, William T. Phillips, mother, Lou Ella Bailey, brothers, Ray W. and Roy J. Phillips, and sister, Irene Phillips Hembree. Madelyn enjoyed baking cakes and she was well known for her stacked cakes. She liked listening to gospel music.
Survivors include: brother, James E. (Virginia) Phillips of Fayetteville, brother, Don R. Phillips of Winder, sister, Cathy Graves of Wears Valley, TN, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Turtletown. Pallbearers include Bob Welch, Junior Mason, Pat, Stephen, and Chase Moseley.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Thursday, February 5, 2015, 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm.
