Mr. Frankie J. Barker: Obituary

Frankie J. Barker passed this life on January 29, 2015 to begin his eternal walk with his Lord and Master.Frankie was born August 18, 1943 to the late Wilford and Ola Locke Barker. Frankie was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Cities Service. Frankie was an avid Sportsman enjoying fishing, hunting, bee keeping and hiking with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty two years, Christine Davenport Barker; children, Jeff (Jacinda) Barker of Turtletown, TN, Lisa (Roy) Galloway of Copperhill, TN; four grandchildren, Tina Hayes of Copperhill, TN, Cole Barker of Ducktown, TN, Ryan Galloway of Copperhill, TN, Kimmi Galloway of Copperhill, TN; Great grandchildren, Channing, Brintlie and Zachary Beach of Copperhill, TN; Honoarary Daughter, Dana Mull Peak of Copperhill, TN; Honorary Granddaughter, Sarah Rooker of Jasper, GA; Siblings, Johnny Barker of Copperhill, TN, Gene (Joyce) Barker of Copperhill, TN, Patricia (Charles) Payne of McCaysville, GA, Scott (Angila) Barker of Copperhill, TN; Beloved Mother-In-Law, Irene Davenport of McCaysville, GA; Many special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday evening, January 30th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home. At Frankies request there will not be a formal funeral service. Interment and graveside services will be held at Mt. View Baptist Church cemetery on Saturday, January 31, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Roger Hyatt and Rev. David O’Neal officiating. Music will be by Kimmi Galloway. Pallbearers include Cole Barker, Ryan Galloway, Keith Barker, Greg Barker, Jeremy Barker, Jonathan Barker, Cody Payne and B.J.Howard. Honorary pallbearers include Freddy Wright, Terry Satterfield, Larry Callahan, Ed Cook, Jeff Deal, J.B.Mull, Dennis Ledford, Ralph Walker and Ronnie Shuler. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Whaley, the Staff of Georgia Cancer Specialist in Blue Ridge, GA and Home HealthCare and Hospice of East Tennessee.
