Mr. Robert “Bob” Frank Jones : Obituary

Mr. Robert “Bob” Frank Jones, age 84, of the Mineral Bluff Highway, Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at his home.Mr. Jones was born on May 28, 1930 in Fannin County, GA to the late Thomas Ambrose Jones and Sarah Kathryn Quintrell Jones. He worked in the Supply Department for Cities Service and retired after 37 years of service. He then was General Manager of Lance Trucking Company for 24 years. He is a member of McCaysville Church of Christ and a Korean War veteran, serving in the United States Army. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wives, Martha Rackley Jones, Brenda Sparks Jones and Kathleen Bailey Jones.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Butch and Susan Jones of Ellijay, GA and Min. Rick and Cathy Jones of Iuka, Mississippi; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Shirley Jones of Mineral Bluff; sister, Becky Williams of Ellijay; four grandchildren, Jenny (Derek) Thompson, Brandon (Wendy) Jones, Emily Jones, and Hannah (Tyler) Morris; and five great grandchildren, Emma Claire Gray, Dasher Thompson, Addie Jones, Ivy Thompson, and Brantley Jones; and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Min. Bill Johnston, Min. Keith Ritchie and Min. Mike Gurganus officiating. Congregational singing will be led by Min. Jim Wright. Pallbearers will be Bobby Loudermilk, Don Dilbeck, Ken Johnson, Jerry Williams, Ralph Stanley, and Daniel Stanley. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Dehart, Larry Lance, Gary Lance, Kevin Lance, Drivers of Lance Trucking Company, Shirley Russell, Jim Sheffer, Gerald Heaton, Marvin Hyde and Wendell Patterson. Interment will follow in Union Church Cemetery with military honors by North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted but if you wish donations may be made to the North Georgia Bible Camp in memory of Mr. Jones at c/o Ken Johnson 369 Oak Drive McCaysville, GA 30555.
