Mrs. Mae Elizabeth Kendall, age 85 of Morganton, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Pruitt Health Care Nursing Home.Mrs. Kendall was born January 29, 1929 in Council Bluffs, IA to the late Arthur Howe and the late Nellie Mae Witcher Howe. A member of the Concord Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by husband, George Reed Kendall, daughter, Cindy Kendall Potts and son, Ronald Kendall. In her spare time, Mae enjoyed crocheting and tending her flower beds.
Survivors include: daughter, Patty (Bob) Heavener, daughter, Cathy (Clyde) Kendall, son, Don (Marilyn) Kendall, daughter, Jackie (Barry) Key, daughter, Jane (Leonard) Self, daughter, Cheryl (Larry) Bradburn, daughter, Sandi (Charlie) Williams, son, Mike Kendall, daughter, Julie (Dan) Wilkins, one sister, Betty (Bob) Adkins, 29 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also special friend Barbara Turner.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Dan Wilkins and Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Music provided by Donnie Kendall and Katie Gibson. Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Kelly Cruse, Donnie Kendall, Scott Key, Patrick Key, Jamie Self, and Josh Self. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Bradburn, Brian Bradburn, Ryan Dills, Michael Kendall, Corbin Kendall, Deagon Kendall, D.J. Kendall, Devon Kendall and Danny Wilkins.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
