Daily Prayer: 12/02/2014

“Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.” James 4:8
Father of mercies and God of grace, we draw near to you in prayer. We pray that you will draw near to us because we need you. Our needs are for personal cleansing from every sin, for the realization that you are with us for physical strength, for spiritual reliance upon you and for ability to bring our burdens to you and leave them there. Forgive us for unwarranted worry that consumes so much of our time. Help us to place our lives in your hands with humble confidence.

Life at times is cruel to us. We suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune. We confess that most of the time it is our own fault. We get ourselves involved in those situations that hurt others and dishonor those we love.

We pray for those who find themselves entangled in such a situation. Give them courage to work it out so far as it is possible to do so. Help this one who seeks solace to draw close to you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Amen.
