Daily Prayer: 11/23/2014

“My times are in Thy hand.” Psalm 31:15

O God of the ages, eternal and everlasting, we worship you in the name of Jesus, the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. At times when life seems long and grueling, remind us that it is really just as a vapor that is here today and gone tomorrow and as green grass that withers. Cause us to be conscious that every day of this brief span is in your hands. You guard us with your care, provide for us from your abundance, lead us with your powerful hand and bless us with your presence every step of the way. For all of these joys of grace we thank you.

Because life is short, help us to redeem the time and work with it today for the night is coming. We pray for the families of our service men who have given their lives for their country on the battlefields of the world. In the midst of sorrow may their families find comfort in the nobility of patriotism which has caused us to be free. May peace come through the Prince of Peace to our world.

Amen.
