Ford Tatman, age 91 of Murphy, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014.He was born January 31, 1923 in Maysville, KY to the late Ford Tatman Sr. and the late Effie Mae Mers Tatman. He had worked as a Forman for 28 1/2 years at NCR. Ford started his own business in 1971 and retired in 1991.
He was a member of the Cherokee Masonic Lodge #146 in Murphy and a member of Murphy First United Methodist Church. He loved socializing, working in the yard, gardening and taking care of his flowers. He had an enormous amount of love for his family. He was an outstanding Husband, Father, Papaw, Brother, Uncle, and friend. He will be missed by many and loved by so many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mae Tatman, sons, Dale Tatman, Austin Tatman and five siblings. Survivors include: son, Mel Tatman and wife Leslie, daughter, P.J. Tatman, grandchildren,Jeff Fear, Alicia Davis-Powell, Marla Morgan, Joe LaMantia, Crista Rossi,Patrick Tatman, Jacquelynn Tatman, Heather Marks and Travis Marks, great grandchildren, Maegan Davis, Madison Davis, Jordan Fear, Kyle Fear, Cole Fear, Joey LaMantia, Ashley LaMantia, Justin LaMantia, Josh LaMantia, Dylan Rossi, Paisley Tatman, Haley Powell, Alexis Powell, Travis Powell, Spencer Marks, Lorelei Marks and Declan Marks.
Funeral services: Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rob Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with Masonic Rites by Cherokee Masonic Lodge # 146. Pallbearers: Patrick Tatman, Tim Tatman, Willie Tatman, Mark Tatman, Jim Wasson, Travis Marks, Jim Jordan and Travis Powell.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy of Murphy, Saturday, November 1, 2014, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
