Arts in Park Huge Success

BLUE RIDGE, GA — Despite a constant drizzle of rain locals and tourists flooded Downtown Blue Ridge for the 39th annual Arts in the Park.
Vendors and artists from Blue Ridge to Wisconsin gathered to display and sell a variety of hand crafted work. Whether it was pottery, photography or a booth dedicated to freshly prepared food there was something to interest everyone.

Executive Director Nichole Potzauf explained the diversity of art that was represented by the wide variety of artist.

“We have over 100 vendors from seven different states,” said Potzauf. “While several of the artist share the same hobbies, such as painting, sculpting and photography, each individual will have their own style and look.”

One such individual is local tie-dye artist and owner of Tina’s Tie-Dye and third year participant, Tina Rice, who had many vibrant pieces displayed for all in attendance to see and purchase.

Potzauf also explained that the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association was expecting upwards of 13,000 visitors to be walking through the vendors tents.

Several people indicated that they were praying for better weather, but Tina Rice’s husband, Tim seemed to think there would still be a great turnout—and there certainly was.
