Fannin County High School and Fannin County Middle School FFA Chapter Members Attend Summer Leadership Camp

Covington GA- This summer, June 16-20, 4 students from the Fannin County FFA Chapter and 8 students from the Fannin County Middle School FFA program were challenged to find the Hero Within. They were part of more than 2,500 students who attended the FFA-FCCLA Summer Leadership Camp 2014 at the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington. In addition to learning leadership skills, these students enjoyed swimming, fishing, horseback riding, zip lines, a giant slip and slide, the Blob, and more. On the last day of camp they participated in an exciting muddy obstacle course.

The students from the Fannin County High School FFA Chapter attending camp included: Hunter Patterson, Lucas Ryan, Trey Campbell, and Katie Patterson. Students attendin from Fannin County Middle School FFA Chapter included: Chandler Patton, Miriam Foster, Adriana Smith, Hanna Payne , Anthony Venable, Cainan Patterson,Justin Shipes, Alexis Ware. The boys team received 2nd place team of the week as well as 2nd place leadership team of the week. The girls team received 2nd place team of the week.

“Summer Leadership Camp provides a chance for FFA and FCCLA students from around the state to grow and learn critical life skills while having exciting experiences that can only happen at camp. We have many great activities, but the ultimate goal is to change lives,”

The Georgia FFA/FCCLA Center is located near Covington, on the banks of Lake Jackson.
