The Copper Basin Ministerial Association will sponsor a special September 11th Memorial Service Saturday, September 6th, at Veterans Memorial Park in Blue Ridge beginning at noon.The event begins at noon and will include a keynote address by the Rev. T. Reamsnyder, pastor of McCaysville United Methodist Church. Others participating in the special service will include Georgia Speaker of the House David Ralston, Blue Ridge Mayor Donna Whitener, Fannin County Sheriff Dane Kirby, retired Army Lt. Col. George Pletcher and the North Georgia Honor Guard, Mathew Colbert, Lydia Long and Dorothy Bugg.
The ministerial association and a group of local churches host a prayer service to pray for America on the second Thursday of each month. Those prayer meetings are held at the gazebo in the downtown Blue Ridge city park. The Sept. 11 special service at the veterans park will replace the second Thursday prayer service in September. The Veterans Memorial Park is located just off Old Hwy. 76 in front of Fannin County Middle School. For information about the service call 706-374-6175, ext. 302.
