Fannin Falls to 2-4 after Being Bounced by Banks 2-1

The Fannin High School Lady Rebels softball team fell to 2-4 after a loss at Banks County. The Lady Rebels road high after beating East Hall at East Hall.After the Panthers of Union pounced on the Lady Rebels, leaving Fannin with a 13-1 victory, the Lady Rebels road to East Hall in hopes of victimizing the Vikings.

The Lady Rebels started plundering the Lady Vikings early, as Stefanie Tatum scored in the first inning on a sacrifice ground out from Tori Welch. The score remained 1-0 until the top of the third inning when Welch’s line drive to center ended up scoring Ashley Rhodes after an error.

Fannin went up 3-0 in the top of the fourth, with Lacey Walden drove in Kiersten Seagle with a ground ball single to second. The Lady Vikings cut the lead to 3-1 but the Lady Rebels held on for the 3-1 victory.

The Lady Rebels leaped on the Lady Leopards of Banks early as well, with a run scored by Tatum on a passed ball in the first; however, Fannin found no more offense and a two run fifth two run single turned into the game winner as Banks banked a 2-1 home win.

Fannin faces Dawson next on Thursday August 21st, with the tangle with the Tigers starting at 5:55.
