Mrs. Addie Mae Davis: Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Addie Mae Davis, age 93, of Gainesville, Georgia, formerly of Blairsville, who passed away early Thursday morning in Chatsworth.Mrs. Davis was born in Cleveland, Georgia, on November 23, 1920, a daughter of the late Tommy Towe and the late Lena Nix Towe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fin Davis, who died in 2001; and a daughter, Ida Mae Heddings; five brothers: Melvin Towe, Harold Towe, Franklin Towe, Eugene Towe and Robert Towe; and two sisters: Pearl Elliott and Ellen Stewart; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Davis. Mrs. Davis was a member of Community Chapel Church in Gainesville.

Mrs. Davis leaves behind many loving family members: daughter, Jeanette McConnell of Cornelia, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Bud and Sandra Davis of Gainesville, Georgia; son, Hurvey William Davis, also of Gainesville; and daughter and son-in-law, Clara Bell and Emerson Nix, of Chatsworth, Georgia; brother, L.J. Towe, of Gainesville; brother, Edward Towe, of Gainesville; brother, Jr. Towe, of Braselton, Georgia; and sister, Isabell Waters of Blue Ridge, Georgia; 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2014, at 4:00 p.m., and will be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Tommy Towe and Rev. Edwin Puckett officiating. Special music will be presented for the service by Grace Stover, Ruby Garrett, Carolyn Ray, Kathy Parson, Debra Lynn and Lora Fox. Nephews will have the honor of serving as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Coosa Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday, August 2, 2014 after 11 am.
