Mr. Grady Harold Tarpley, age 71, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2014 at his home.Mr. Tarpley was born on January 12, 1943 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Grady Hoyt and Armanda Anderson Tarpley. He worked as a fork lift operator for Sonoco Paper Company for over 37 years. He was a member of the New Antioch Baptist Church. Also, Mr. Tarpley loved to read The Bible and newspaper, and to work.
Mr. Tarpley is survived by his loving wife of almost 48 years, Rose Mary Tarpley of the home; son, Jeff (Karen) Tarpley of Alapaha, GA; daughters, Gwen Wagner of Douglasville, GA and Kimberly (Greg) Rainwater of Lithia Springs, GA; brother, Tommy Tarpley of Mableton, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Wagner, Joshua Wagner, Ashley Tarpley, Hunter Tarpley, Larkimn-Arse Rainwater, and Annabelle Rainwater; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Davenport of Rome, GA, Anne Bice of Copperhill, TN, Teresa Pittman of Blue Ridge, GA, and Steve Davenport of McCaysville, GA.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM from the New Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Pope and Rev. Terry Thrasher officiating. Music will be provided by Lawrence Bice and the New Antioch Church Choir. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Lawrence Bice, Steve Davenport, Greg Rainwater, Tommy Tarpley, Chris Beavers, and Kevin Beavers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
