Audrey Marilyn Wells : Obituary

Audrey Marilyn Wells passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday July 16, 2014 with family and loved ones at her side.Marilyn moved to Murphy in 2011 after retiring as the Medical Records Director at McDowell Hospital in Marion, NC. Marilyn had an MS as a Registered Health Information Administrator and taught health information Technology at McDowell Technical Community College. She volunteered often at Murphy Medical Center after moving to Murphy. Marilyn was an avid horseback rider, nature and animal lover. She was a master gardener and volunteered with animal rescue efforts. Marilyn was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church and tried to bring peace to her world through all her actions and words.

Marilyn will be missed and remembered by all of her family of loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wells of Marion, NC; and parents, Horace and Audrey Whitehorne. Survivors include her sister, Pam Strawn and her husband, John of Murphy, niece, Lacy Anderson and her husband, Jamie of Atlanta and her niece, Holly Meadows and her husband, Spencer of Murphy.

There will be a private service , Sunday at 3:00 pm at Mrs. Wells residence.
