New Chief Magistrate Judge of Fannin County Sworn In

Sherri L. Walker was sworn in a the new Chief Magistrate Judge of Fannin County, today July 17, 2014.
Ms. Walker a lifelong supporter of the area and a 1984 graduate of Copper Basin High School, was sworn in a crowed court room full of family and friends.

In 2005, Walker was hired by the late Chief Magistrate Judge Ronald Newton to serve as a Deputy Clerk, and worked in this capacity until being sworn in.

It is expected that Walker will continue to operate the office in the same efficient manner as Judge Newton.

The election for Chief Magistrate Judge will occur in 2016.

Our prayers and thoughts continue to be with Judge Newton’s family.
