Mrs. Martha Jane Henson, age 84 of Mineral Bluff, passed away July 6, 2014 at Heritage Health Care Of Blue Ridge.Mrs. Henson was born March 20, 1930 in Fannin Co. Ga., GA to the late Thomas Roberson and the late Gertrude Whiteside Roberson. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandchild, Jennifer Darlene Henson and spouse, Carmel Ford “Cub” Henson.
She loved her church at Pleasant Hill and gospel music. She loved both her family and church family. She was inducted into the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame for her skills as a basketball player in 1946-1947. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Tim & Molly Henson, daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Ronnie Deweese, daughter & son-in-law, Jo Ann & Butch Shook, son & daughter-in-law, Terry & Darlene Henson.
Funeral services: Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Adams and Rev. Doyle Davis officiating. Music provided by: the Caylor Family. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tommy Henson, Zeke Henson, Rusty Roberson, Charlie Couch, David Falls and Ed Howard. Honorary pallbearers: Jerry Falls, Jim Falls, Randall Davis, Roy Conners and Jim Roberson.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge from 6:00 – 9:00pm on Monday, July 7, 2014.
