Blue Ridge High Speed Chase Ends in Crash

A high speed chase led by the Georgia State Patrol (ended Tuesday afternoon (July 1) after the driver of the fleeing car crashed the vehicle he was driving into a ditch.

At 4:36 p.m. Lt. Gary Huffman of the Blue Ridge Police Department arrested both Stephanie Nichole Stout (age 35) and Webb Warren Northcutt (age 29). Both defendants live in Blue Ridge only a block away from the incident.
According to Blue Ridge Chief of Police Johnny Searce, Norcutt broke the right driver’s side window of the patrol car while he was temporarily detained during the arrest process.

Lisa Pritchard of fetchyournews.com, (who happened to be in the area at the time) said she saw Northcutt evade a patrol car for a considerable distance before being apprehended.

The chase began southbound on Highway 515 when the driver (Northcutt) attempted to turn left on Orvin Lance Connector. The chase continued through the downtown area of Blue Ridge and ended when Norcutt crashed after turning right on West 1st Street (presumably to get back on the four lane).

Both defendants had outstanding criminal warrants at the time of the arrest and were taken to the Adult Detention Center in Fannin County.

Stout was arrested for 2 drug possession-related charges as well as a 2 traffic charges.

Norcutt was arrested for 5 traffic-related charges as well as “Fleeing or attempting to elude an officer” and “Criminal interference of government property.”
