Fannin County’s BOC and a Court Ordered Garbage Contract

Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting in Fannin county included a lively discussion and a participatory audience. Several citizens took the opportunity to address the Board on a number of issues.
Advanced Disposal quickly became the focus after Post One Commissioner Earl Johnson read a letter from a citizen and questioned the chairman about Fannin’s garbage service contract.

The conflict all stems from a court order signed on October 1st 2009 by Fannin County Superior Court Judge Brenda Weaver. The order gives Advanced Disposal the option to renew their contract for an additional two years after the contract expires in August 2014.

Here is the video from Tuesday’s meeting. More details to come.
