Community, Featured Stories, Rebel's Corner

Dear Community,

It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to share the wonderful news about the Fannin County School District’s recent five-year accreditation review by AdvancED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the agency that accredits our school district.
During the accreditation review visit in May, five representatives from AdvancED came to each of our campuses, interviewed numerous stakeholders, and reviewed documentation and records.  They thoroughly assessed our district’s performance in meeting the AdvancED Standards of Accreditation, as well as how we engage in a continuous improvement process and demonstrate quality assurance throughout the educational process.

Stakeholder involvement from all groups with a tie to our school district was a significant component of the team’s assessment of our district.  Regarding our community, I am proud that at least 115 individuals representing families of students, area businesses, and other groups were on hand to meet with the AdvancED team members during stakeholder interviews.

Based on the findings from an extensive review of evidence gathered over the last five years since our last visit, the accreditation team recommends that the Fannin County School System be accredited once again.

Due to your support, we have been successful as we strive to achieve our vision:  The Fannin County School System will be recognized as a world class school system that holds a vision of excellence for all students with successful student progression at each level and a 100% graduation rate.

Our community is to be commended for supporting the children of Fannin County so each may receive the best possible education.  Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Mark Henson
Superintendent
