Mrs. Vera Turner Davenport, age 84 of Cherrylog, passed away May 18, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Davenport was born April 22, 1930 in Union County, GA to the late Elmer Turner and the late Vesta Davenport Turner. She attended Oak Grove Baptist Church, retired from Levi Strauss after 40 years of service enjoyed sewing, flowers and taking care of her family.
Survivors include: son, David (Sabrina) Davenport, daughter, Susan Gibbs, brother, Grady Turner, sister, Jean Davis, granddaughter, Shelby Patton, granddaughter, Shuana Belt, grandson, Jonathan Herendon, grandson, Joshua Davenport, great grandson, Brent Davis, great grandson, Tyler Mull, great granddaughter, Shelby Belt, great granddaughter, Kayla Herendon, .
Funeral services: Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Hooper and Rev. John Davis officiating. Music provided by Sabrina Davenport and Carolyn Filer. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jonathan Herendon, Joshua Davenport, Brent Davis, Michael Patton, Greg Belt and Edward Turner.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Tuesday, May 20, 2014 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
