Rough Riding for Rebels

The Fannin County High School Rebels baseball team has hit a rough patch, with three straight losses after the 14-1 blow-out victory over Murray County. The Rebels have fallen to North Hall twice (13-7, 15-2) and East Hall, (6-2).The Rebels first faced North Hall at home, where the game began with a Rebels run of runs; four for Fannin in the first inning.

A single from Trevor Stone scored Peyton Satterfield before Jordan Gray scored on a sacrifice ground out. Stone and Noah O’Neal both scored on errors to take a 4-1 lead into the second inning; however the Trojans tied the game with three runs in the top of the second.

The top of the third saw the Trojans tacked on four more runs for an 8-4 lead. The Rebels managed to score two runs in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 8-6; however, North Hall outscored Fannin 7-1 in the last four innings.

The second game at North Hall saw the Rebels manage to score only two runs while giving up 15 in a game called after the fifth inning.

The Rebels could not muster any runs in the 6-0 home loss to East Hall. The Vikings plundered the Rebels defense in the first two innings as East Hall scored its first three runs. One run in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, finished Fannin off.

The Rebels will travel to East Hall Tuesday, March 18t for to make up a rain out game. The Rebels’ record is currently 3-4.
