Lucille Rosalee Mealer : Obituary

Mrs. Lucille Rosalee Mealer, age 84, of McCaysville, GA passed away on March 7, 2014, at her home following an extended illness.Born in Cherokee County, NC she was the daughter of the late Edgar William and Eller Bryson Henson. She was a member of the Hot House Baptist Church and the Beulah Chapter #21, Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Mealer had been a Beautician for over forty years and operated the Kut and Kurl Beauty Salon for many of those years. She was also preceded in death by two husbands; C.L. Mealer and Hayden Arp; and two grandchildren; Rebecca Housley and Jacob Mealer.

Survivors include her children, Evelyne M. Housley of Mineral Bluff, GA, Glenn Mealer of McCaysville, GA, Gary and wife Jodi Mealer of Chatsworth, GA and Jimmy Mealer also of McCaysville; brother and sister-in-law, James and Ruth Henson of Murphy, NC; sister, Betty Jean and Dean Griffith of Wayne, MI; grandchildren, Kenny Housley, Karen Housley, Eric Mealer, Tony Mealer, Zach Mealer, Jenny Smith, Luke Mealer, Matthew Mealer and Jonathan Mealer; great grandchildren, Rachel Housley, Kelsey Blair, Jamey Blair, Coy Mealer, Casey Mealer, Hannah Mealer, Hudson Smith, Eryn Mealer and Emily Mealer.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Housley officiating. Music will be provided by the Gibbs Family and Mickey Truelove. Interment will follow in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Kenny Housley, Zach Mealer, Eric Mealer, Luke Mealer, Matthew Mealer, Jonathan Mealer and Jamey Blair.
