FCHS Technology Student Association Participate in State Competition

The Fannin County High School Technology Student Association participated in the National TSA TEAMS Engineering Competition on Friday, February 28th. The event was hosted by The Georgia Institute of Technology. Teams from across the nation are competing in a STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology) event, with the goal of participating in the National TEAMS Competition in Washington, DC in June this summer.The Fannin County 9th and 10th grade team placed 3rd in the State at Friday’s event. They are eligible to attend the national TSA conference in Washington, DC to compete for the national title!

Senior, Alex Dumas, was on the 1st place team in the engineering design challenge, where students were grouped randomly with other students from around the state. The teams were tasked with building a railway design and maximizing the structural load of a bridge or tunnel.

The Technology Student Association is a national organization for the promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. TSA students participate annually in events ranging from robotics design to debating technological issues.
