Barbara Ann Barton : Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Ann Barton, age 71, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, GA.Mrs. Barton was born in Mineral Bluff, GA on July 26, 1942 to the late Boyd Lester Ross and Thelma Dean Ross. She retired from Clayton County School System where she worked for 33 years as a Dietitian at Brown Elementary School. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and attended Mobile Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. “Booge” Barton.

She is survived by her children, DeAnna Barton Brown of Fayetteville, GA and Gregory Edwin Barton and his wife Pamela of Mineral Bluff, GA; brothers, Raymond Ross and wife Alma of Epworth, and Jerry Boyd Ross and wife Cheryl of Mineral Bluff; sister, Madeline Tarpley and late husband Kenneth of Mineral Bluff; grandchildren, Dylan York Brown, Barton Dane Brown, Bailey Dean (Whitney) Barton, Hailey Anne Barton, and Candace Duvall; and great grandchildren, Ryder Kole Barton and Sheckler Sterrett Barton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Travis Davenport, Rev. Jo Dan Wilkins, and Rev. Harold Lowery officiating. Music will be by Staci Ross, Nichole Davenport, and Jan Pelfrey. Pallbearers will be Mike Stephens, Kevin Beavers, Brad Ross, Bob Ross, Farron Barton, Brent Barton, and Caleb Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Beavers, Howard Abercrombie, Luther Maddox, Buddy Adams, Brian Ross, and Billy O’Neal. Interment will follow in Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery.
