MEC Students Visit North Georgia Tech

On a recent trip to North Georgia Technical College, students from Mountain Education Charter High School were able to learn about course offerings, new and existing program offerings, financial aid, tuition comparison to other schools, and general information about the school. As the students toured the NGTC, they were able to explore the benefits of being enrolled as well as view the facility and what it has to offer students and the general public. One of the programs discussed was nursing. MEC students experienced the nursing clinic on campus which consists of an electronic body, “Stan”, who functions like a realistic human being. The students were able to see “Stan” breathe, hear him speak, see his blood pressure, and even feel his pulse. Students also visited the library, cosmetology rooms, the student center, and much more. MEC students have the opportunity to take part in a dual enrollment program at NGTC to gain both high school and college credits.
