Mrs. Doris “Beverly” Barnes, age 67 of Blue Ridge, passed away February 20, 2014 at the Union General Hospital. Beverly was born May 4, 1946 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Coleman Breeden and Polly Taylor Breeden. A member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by one son, Duane Neal. She was a loving caregiver. She enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Survivors include: husband, Jerry Barnes, daughter, Tammy and husband Daniel Aaron, son, Daniel and wife Lona Neal, son, Donnie and wife Cindy Neal, sister, Joyce and husband Frank Mull, brother, Jimmy and Anne Breeden, nineteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Stewart and Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Neal, Darren Burnette, Trevor Neal, Dennis Eshleman, Dwayne Ledford and Matthew Kerry. Honorary pallbearers Jimmy Smallwood, Kenneth Barnes, and David Eshleman.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6-9 pm.
