Estalene Davenport Burgess : Obituary

Mrs. Estalene Davenport Burgess, age 68, of Morganton, GA passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the Gilmer County Nursing Home in Ellijay, GA. She was born in Fannin County, GA on November 10, 1945 to the late Garfield Matthew Davenport and Alice Mandy Foster Davenport. She was a member of New Hope (Flint Hill) Baptist Church and worked as a machine operator for Shaw Industries. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Harold Burgess; brothers, C.L. Davenport, Charlie Davenport, and James Davenport; and a sister, Dorothy Patterson. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Theresa Burgess of Morganton, GA, Randy and Linda Burgess of Blue Ridge, Rex Burgess of Morganton, and Ray Burgess of Blue Ridge; brothers, Rev. Delmar Davenport of Epworth and Junior Davenport of Chatsworth; sister, Jewell McCoy of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, T.J. (Bridgett) Burgess, Taylor Burgess, Matthew Burgess, and Brandon Burgess; and two great grandchildren, Lucie Burgess and Bentley Burgess.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. David Mashburn officiating. Music will be by Pat Mashburn. Pallbearers will be T.J. Burgess, Taylor Burgess, Matthew Burgess, Brandon Burgess, Larry Sisson, and Jeff Nicholson. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Church Cemetery.
