Mrs. Ruby Ann Cross, age 56, passed away on January 15, 2014 in Mineral Bluff, GA surrounded by her family.Born in McCaysville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Wendell G. and Eula Mae Roberson Cross. Mrs. Cross had worked for Levi Strauss for over twenty six years and later worked at Wal-Mart in Ellijay for ten years. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Ralph Cecil Cross.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Mary Lou and Leroy Dillard, Betty Jean and Reid Tarpley, Jeanette Cross, Charles and Charlene Cross, Randall Cross, Winston and Gail Cross all of Mineral Bluff, GA, Benny and Gay Cross of Morganton, GA, Henry Cross of Mineral Bluff, GA, Bill and Hazel Cross of Glasgow, KY and Delores Cross also of Mineral Bluff, GA; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Johnson and Rev. Doyle Davis officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Phillip Thomas. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Montgomery officiating. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Bill Payne, Jerry Garren, Zeke Henson, Bobby Johnson, Jay Tolbert and Sir John Davis. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Rev. Jim Holsonback, Zachary Plott, Kyle Everett, Wesley Richardson, Dustyn Davenport, Jade Underwood and Kevin Jones.
