Mrs. Ruby Dorthy Kent, age 82 of Monroe, GA passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at her home.Mrs. Kent was born on August 25, 1931 in Blue Ridge, GA. She was a retired Registered Nurse from Park Place Nursing Home in Monroe, GA and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are sons, Jeff Kent and Donnie Kent both of Monroe, GA; daughter, Thelma Ballew: sisters, Jewell Lowery of Adairsville, GA and Louise Greer; nine grandchildren, Natasha Couch, Jeff Kent, Jr., Christina Floyd, John Wells, Justin and Dustin Glass, Hope, Samantha and D.J. Kent and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. from Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Jerusalem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Ezekiel, Donnie Lowery, Johnny Forsyth and Wesley Lowery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
