Robert Knopp : Obituary

Robert Lee Knopp, resident of Blairsville, GA stayed active through the end of his long and fulfilling life. As his family likes to think: he just wore out, completed his life and passed away peacefully on November 7, 2013.He was 96 years old. Mr. Knopp was a transmission mechanic most of his life, but could fix about anything. He loved working in the yard, listening to music, and holding his precious little dog, Boy.

Mr. Knopp is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Belle Knopp, to whom he was married for 59 years. He is also preceded in death by daughter, Pamela Lynn Mace who resided in Towson, Maryland. He is survived by son, Robert Knopp, Jr. of Arbutus, Maryland, and his wife, Debra Knopp (Moore) and daughter, Denise Marie Seymour (Knopp) of Conyers, GA and her husband, Wayne Seymour. Mr. Knopp is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Joshua, Sandra, Jeffrey, Megan, David, and Katelyn, and by six great grandchildren: Nathan, Dodge, Tess, Jane, Sawyer, and Camden. Also, surviving Mr. Knopp are numerous brothers in law and sisters in law, one in particular, Nancy Groen, who was a devoted care taker to him.

A viewing will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 4 – 6 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Blairsville, and Mr. Knopp’s funeral will be on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM, also at Cochran’s Funeral Home, Blairsville with Rev. Waymon Lovell officiating. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens.
