Red Ribbon Week Held at BRES

All grades identified their knowledge of drugs and became aware of the harms these drugs may cause to your body. Kindergarten made their pledge to stay drug free by drawing pictures of themselves saying no to drugs. First grade pledged to be drug free by linking together their names on slips of paper to make a chain. Second grade’s focus was “Don’t Get Caught Up in a Web of Bad Choices,” where they identified bad choices in regards to drugs and placed them on a spider web. Third grade came up with things they would rather do than drugs, wrote it on a red ribbon, and tied the red ribbons around the school. Fourth grade’s focus was “iTune Out Drugs,” where they created individual iPods and made up a song title to a drug free album. Lastly, fifth grade watched the Natural High video and determined what their personal “natural high” was. We also had a week of different dress up days, including Halloween costumes! Our students have been bringing in change for “Change for Good Choices” which focuses on encouraging the students to make good choices every day!
