Fannin County Fire Department was dispatched to Church Street for the report of a residential structure fire. Dispatch advised that the caller stated everyone was out of the house except for the pets. Engine 1 arrived to find that the house was fully involved, with other structures close by in danger and power lines down arcing in the yard. Engine 1 deployed four 1 3/4″ attack-lines to start bringing the fire under control. Crews extinguished the fire and overhauled the structure looking for hot spots. Command contacted Red
Cross for assistance for the occupants of the residence, and the State Fire Marshall’s office for Origin and Cause determination. Engines 1, 16, Medic 1, and 16 firefighters responded from the Blue Ridge area. The fire cause is undermined at this time and still under investigation.
