Rodney McCombs : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. Rodney McCombs, of Blairsville, who passed away Friday afternoon in Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.Mr. McCombs was born August 3, 1933 in Dania, FL. He and his family moved to Blairsville in 1977 where Rodney served as President of the First National Bank of Union County for many years. Later, He worked with United Community Banks until his retirement. Rodney had been very active in community groups over the years including the Union County Historical Society, the Rotary Club and the Quarterback Club.
He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Blairsville.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia McCombs, son, and daughter-in-law, Byron and Diane McCombs of Blairsville, GA, daughter, Kim Griffin of Lawrenceville, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Donna McCombs of Blairsville, sister, Barbara Hogan of Reddick, FL, and grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, Rhett and Parker McCombs, Ryan and Megan Griffin and Mason and Mia McCombs.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday September 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.at the Blairsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Lodge and Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Music will be provided by Minister Terry Hooper. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5 until 8 P.M.
