Title 1 Annual Parent Meeting Held at WFES

On August 20th West Fannin Elementary held their Annual Title 1 Night. Our PTO provided pizza and soda to all families and our staff.
Each school in our district that receives federal funds from Title I have to meet a number of requirements, one of the requirements is to hold an annual Title I Parent meeting where we highlight what we will do this year to increase educational achievement, increase parent involvement, and how we use Title I funds in our school. We also provide copies of our Parent Involvement Plan and Comprehensive Title I School Plan.

Title 1 is the largest federal funded education program in the United States. (see: US Dept. of Education)

Title 1 of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (formerly known as ECIA, ESEA or Chapter 1) is the largest federally funded educational program. This program, authorized by Congress, provides supplemental funds to school districts to assist schools with the highest student concentrations of poverty to meet school educational goals.
