Charles Sparkman Nicks, age 96 of Hayesville, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home. He was born May 7, 1917 in Waverly, TN to the late Charles Nicks, Sr. and the late Jennie Christian Nicks.
He was a member of Shooting Creek Church of Christ. During World War II, he installed equipment on ships and went on several shake down cruises teaching the sailors how to operate the new equipment. He traveled the world, setting up small hydro power plants in undeveloped countries. He owned True Flow Corporation in Belle Glade, FL. He has lived in this area for over 40 years and worked as a land developer. He was greatly loved by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his spouse, Lucile Nicks; daughters, Collette Brown and Diane Nicks; son, Charles E. Nicks; grandchildren and great grandchildren; dogs, Buttons and Bingo.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Shooting Creek Memorial Gardens with Minister Charles Nicks officiating. Entombment will be in the Shooting Creek Memorial Gardens .
