GBI Bomb Squad on Windy Ridge to Investigate “Homemade Bombs”

FYN received a tip that the Fannin County Sheriff’s Department received a call and responded to the scene at 580 Windy Ridge Road in Blue Ridge. After speaking with Sheriff Kirby, FYN has learned that the tip was received today regarding a truck on the property of the previously mentioned residence and it held incendiary devices. The GBI bomb squad responded and found the tip to be true. The devices were removed and detonated. Sheriff Kirby stated that they didn’t know the intent of the devices or the owner of the vehicle but ensured that charges will be filed. Sources tell FYN they have learned the suspect(s) were possibly making Molotov cocktail(s). FYN will continue to follow the developments of the investigation.
