Kenneth Drexler : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy announces the death and funeral services for Mr. Kenneth G. Drexler, age 86, of Marble, North Carolina, who passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013.Mr. Drexler was born in Jasper, Indiana, on September 20, 1926, a son of the late Ralph Drexler and the late Clara Vogel Drexler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and proudly served his country during World War II. Mr. Drexler had lived in this area for the past 24 years, moving here from Haines City, Florida. He was a retired accountant, and was of the Presbyterian faith. Kenneth found great enjoyment in making people laugh, and he had been an avid fisherman. Gardening was another one of his passions in life. In addition to his parents, Kenneth had also been preceded in death by three brothers: Donnie Drexler, Kenneth Drexler, Jr., and Kevin Drexler.

Kenneth leaves behind his loving family members to treasure his memory: his wife, Donnis, of Marble, North Carolina; Children, Susan McClendon, of Sarasota, Florida; Nathlie and her husband Wendall Maggard, of Haines City, Florida; and Laurette Luke, of Robbinsville, North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren also are surviving.

Funeral services for Mr. Drexler have been scheduled for Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy. The following gentlemen have been selected by the family to serve as pallbearers: Billy Maggard, Michael Luke, Chris Homan, T. Wayne Cook, Chase Coker, and Frank Ferguson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation for Kenneth will be held at Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy, and will start on Friday evening, August 16, 2013, with the family especially meeting with friends between the hours of 6 until 8 p.m.

Flowers are being accepted; however, if you wish to do so, memorial contributions may be directed to Children’s Miracle Network, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
