Dewey Gibbs : Obituary

Dewey Daniel Gibbs, age 62 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Copper Basin Medical Center. He was born November 17, 1950 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Charlie Gibbs and the late Mima Henson Gibbs. He was preceded in death by brother, Bobby Gibbs. He was a member of Hot House Baptist Church and a US Army veteran serving two terms in Vietnam where he received two Purple Hearts.

Survivors include: wife, Susan Gibbs, sons, Daniel (Nicole) Gibbs and Daryll (Melanie) Gibbs, step-daughters, Shelby (Mike) Patton and Shuana (Greg) Belt, step-son, Jonathan (Amanda) Herendon, Brothers, Don (Brenda) Gibbs, David (Delores) Gibbs, Dennis (Sherry) Gibbs, Ralph (Connie) Gibbs and Buddy (Linda) Gibbs, sisters, Polly (Howard) Crosby, Doris (Dennis) Barfield, Martha Lee (Jewell) Cole and Darlene (Grady) Turner, grandchildren, Lyndsey Gibbs, Haley Gibbs, Dalton Gibbs, Brianna Gibbs, Damon Gibbs and Bentley Gibbs, step-grandchildren, Brent Davis, Tyler Mull, Shelby Belt and Kayla Herendon.

Funeral services: Monday, August 12, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Music provided by: A.C. Caylor Family . Interment will follow in The church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Daniel Gibbs, Daryll Gibbs, James Howard Gibbs, Jonathan Herendon, Damon Gibbs, Dennis Barfield.

The family will receive friends at the Henry Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Sunday, August 11, 2013 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
