Mr. George Curtis “Curt” Davis, age 78, of Cherry Log, GA passed away on August 5, 2013. Born in Fannin County, GA. He was the son of the late George Washington and Nora Millsaps Davis. Mr. Davis had served in the United States Army and was of the Baptist Faith. He worked for a number of years in the Construction of Dams throughout the area. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rose Pittman Davis; one daughter, Regina Davis; and one brother, William Young Davis.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Poole of Cherry Log, GA; step-son, Danny Davis of Epworth, GA; siblings, Myrtle Ash of Mineral Bluff, GA, Herman Davis of Ormond Beach, FL, Reathel Bryan of Blue Ridge, GA, Pauline Raper of Farner, TN and Lee Davis of Blue Ridge, GA; a very special cousin and friend, Johnny Millsaps of Cherry Log, GA; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 9, at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Marilyn Thomas. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m until the memorial hour of 1:00 p.m.
