On June 17-21 students from Fannin County High School and Fannin County Middle School FFA Chapter’s learned to raise their anchors to set sail.They were part of more than 500 students who attended the fourth week of FFA-FCCLA Summer Leadership Camp 2013 at the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington. In addition to learning leadership skills, these students enjoyed swimming, fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, shooting sports, zip lines, a giant slip and slide, the Blob, and more! On the last day of camp they participated in a muddy obstacle course.
The students also participated in both team and individual events while at camp. Dionna Sisson placed first in ping pong and crafts- jewelry division, Caleb O’Neal won both the essay and quiz competition. Caleb O’Neal and Maddie Mathews were chosen to be a team captains for their respective cabins. Other students attending Ben Poole, Hannah Poole, Katelyn Mealer, Amy Reynolds, Adrianna Smith, Briana Mathews, Chandler Patton , Dakota Burk, and Jeffrey Turpin.
