Avery Wayne Patterson, age 85, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Mr. Patterson was born on May 13, 1928 in Fannin County, GA to the late Virgil Wayne Patterson and Fannie Nell Cornwell Patterson. He worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for 28 years and was a member of Young’s Chapel Church.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris Patterson. He is survived by his wife, Lola Jones Patterson of Blue Ridge; sons, Gary Patterson of Ellijay, GA and David Patterson of Cherry Log, GA; daughter, Rhonda Patterson Thomas of Blairsville, GA; sisters, Mary Sue Greene, Louise Allen, and Ruby McClure, all of Blue Ridge; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Jeff Fair officiating. Music will be by Connie Harrison. Pallbearers will be Andy Patterson, Mark Thomas, and Cody Thomas. Interment will follow in Sugar Creek Church Cemetery.
