Mrs. Martine Parker Davenport, age 86, of Marietta, GA passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA.Mrs. Davenport was born on January 14, 1927 in Andrews, NC to the late Perry C. Parker, Sr. and Annie Grace Amos Parker. She worked as an administrative assistant for Atlanta Gas Light Company and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hassen Davenport; sisters, Clara Mae (Mrs. Troy) King and Gladys P. (Mrs. Don) Dieters; brother, Perry C. Parker, Jr. and Robert N. Parker; and her dog Lucy. She is survived by her brother, Billy J. Parker of Walesa, GA; her sister, Peggy P. Asherbranner of Jasper, GA; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Pastor Brian K. Asherbranner officiating. Interment will follow in Hemptown Cemetery.
