It’s Official! Pennington Enters Governor’s Race

After months of wavering, Dalton Mayor David Pennington announced this morning that he will run for governor of Georgia, officially announcing his candidacy. Gilmer’s own and Host of Focus on Excellence Joe McCutchen broke the news this morning. In his Facebook post McCutchen further endorsed the mayor, calling Pennington a Reagan conservative.

“David has cut taxes and spending for the citizens of Dalton, Georgia, as Mayor, and is a super leader,”

he said.

“I predict that David will be elected and will be the best Governor in Georgia history for the taxpayers and the best Governor in America.”
