Swan Drive-In is Ready for Its Close-Up

The Swan Drive-In Theatre in Blue Ridge is well-known as a great place to see a movie, but very soon it will also be known for actually having a role in a movie.

The drive-in will not be showing movies next Wednesday, June 19th, or on Thursday, June 20th, due to the filming of the new movie “Need for Speed”, which is based on the popular racing video game installments. Current Swan Drive-In operator Steve Setser was very enthusiastic about the project, saying

“I am happy that the community is being given this opportunity and grateful that other businesses will also benefit from revenue generated from people being brought into the area. The extras that are chosen have a unique opportunity to show off their talent, and who knows, a star might be born through this…This [opportunity] truly shows what an asset the theatre is to our community.”

“Breaking Bad”s Aaron Paul is currently cast as the film’s lead role with other notable cast members including Michael Keaton, Dominic Cooper, and rapper Kid Cudi. The film is currently set to be released in the Spring of 2014.
