Jerry Ray Towe, Sr. : Obituary

Mr. Jerry Ray Towe, Sr., age 71, of Epworth, GA passed away on Saturday June 8, 2013.Born in Rome, GA he was the son of the late Fred M. and Pearl Key Towe. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for over fifty years as a Truck Driver with most of those years with RMDS/ NAPA Auto Parts. Jerry was a founding member, manager and bass singer with the Copper City Quartet for twenty four years. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ladell Towe, Doris Towe Green and Elaine Towe Ayers.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Brady Towe of the home; son Jerry Towe, Jr. and wife Susan of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter, Leanne Towe Scott of Epworth, GA; grandchildren, Tracie and Holly Towe of Topsham, ME, Trey, Matt and Scott Towe all of Epworth, GA; brothers, Rev. Alton E. Towe, Sr. and wife Louise of Mineral Bluff, GA, Billy Towe and wife Joann of McCaysville, GA; sister, Desma Chastain and husband Paul of Naples, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday June 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bradley Elliott officiating. Music will be provided by Ralph Grice and Jimmy Helton. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Ray Towe, Trey Towe, Richard Brady, Greg Towe, Steve Towe and Alton Towe, Jr.. The following have been selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Matt Scott, Chris Scott, Walter Green, Bill Hall, Gary Towe, Franklin Towe, William Cole, Jim Davenport, Joe Ballew, Joel Chastain and RMDS/NAPA Employees.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5-9 p.m.
