Virginia Christine McGill : Obituary

Mrs. Virginia Christine McGill, age 88, of Jackson, GA passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 in Monroe County Hospital in Forsyth, GA.
Mrs. McGill was born on May 18, 1925 in Fannin County, GA to the late Charles B. Collis and Ethel Branton Collis. She worked at Levi Strauss and was a member of Cherry Log Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill McGill. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sue McGill of Tayorsville, KY; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Harold Lowery of Jackson, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Jame Leroy Collis and Ginny Collis of Citrus Springs, FL; sister, Marilyn Rogers of Ellijay, GA; sister-in-laws, Marie Collis of Jefferson, GA and Jeanette McGill of Ellijay; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Bill Johnson and Rev. Keith Lowery officiating. Music will be led by James McGill and pianist will be Patsy Beavers. Pallbearers will be Shane McGill, Wesley Lowery, Thomas Lowery, James Turner, Jeff Towe, and David Leatherwood. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memory Garden.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday after 2:00 p.m. but especially from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
